State Agency Evaluating SchoolDNA Platform for Statewide Rollout
Denver, Colorado – February 25, 2015 – BuildingDNA (www.buildingdna.co), developer of the SchoolDNATM dynamic mapping platform for school emergency operations planning (SEOP), announced today that the Department of Public Safety’s Colorado School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC) has selected BuildingDNA as one of the pilot companies in its BASIC Prep program, which aligns schools and districts with businesses to enhance safety planning and emergency preparedness. Schools participate voluntarily and assume a business partner at their sole discretion. BuildingDNA has launched a pilot program with prominent North Denver K-12 The Pinnacle Charter School (www.thepinnacleweb.org). BuildingDNA will provide Pinnacle with a cloud-based sustainable solution for emergency planning, preparedness and response.
“The purpose of BASIC Prep is to explore collaboration, identify challenges and provide tools and templates for a larger rollout across the state,” explained CSSRC Director Christine Harms. “We are very intrigued by the SchoolDNA integrated mapping platform, and are pleased to partner with BuildingDNA on one of our first school pilot initiatives.”
Added Pinnacle School Safety Manager Amber Oeltjenbruns, “We believe that SchoolDNA can empower us to conduct more frequent and effective table top training exercises, and make our Fire and Life Safety plans ‘come to life’. We are also excited by the platform’s potential to help best inform first responders, providing live video feed and other real-time information within a building map accessible from any secure mobile device.”
“We are honored to have been selected to participate in the CSSRC BASIC Prep program, and to have been expressly chosen as pilot partner by The Pinnacle Charter School,” stated BuildingDNA President and Founder Glenn Morris. “In pairing businesses with proactive school leadership, we feel that initiatives like BASIC Prep represent the best path to truly safe schools. And Amber and her team at Pinnacle have demonstrated a deep commitment to enhanced planning though innovative thinking – they are the ideal organization to participate in the pilot project.
“School emergency operations planning is just the first application of our platform for schools; to provide a comprehensive facilities solution to schools like Pinnacle and others nationwide, we are expanding our offering to include maintenance management, energy management and integrated security. We look forward to continuously creating material value for our schools and our students.”
